The Air Up There
Even better evidence that the revolution will be socialized: Adopt The Sky, in which you can adopt a square mile of sky somewhere in the country to make a statement about clean air.
Look: this is basically a grassroots campaign done online, from some obviously forward-thinking law dogs at a firm called Earth Justice. You've got your new interactive media. You've got your bringing of the people together in a new community. You've got your empowering of your user. You've got your explorability of notes from other people who have adopted a patch of the wild blue yonder and your searchability of friends and their patches of sky. You've got your completely new paradigm, child. It's social media, and it works! WOOT!

In all seriousness, the object is clearly to raise awareness and get people to sign a petition calling on the EPA to embrace the strictest of smog control standards. But the unspoken agenda is to get people to engage. This works with, um, flying colors. Thank you Space150. Killer choice of music track, BTW.
I just love, love, love this. Found myself wanting to spend time and explore. By the way, I adopted a square mile of sky over Iowa. I love my neighbors, you know.

Haven't had time to check it all out, but it sounds cool. What's even cooler than signing petitions is to know the candidates, know who you're voting for, know who's in their pockets, and hold your representative (elected or purchased, as the case may be) accountable.
